Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Planning and Scheduling Engineer to join our construction team, specializing in projects that involve MEP and HVAC scopes. The ideal candidate will bring over seven years of experience in construction planning and demonstrate strong proficiency in Primavera P6. Candidates with backgrounds in civil, mechanical, or related engineering fields who have relevant construction scheduling experience are encouraged to apply. This role demands close coordination with site teams and subcontractors to ensure that project timelines are effectively managed and met.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, focusing on construction projects that include MEP and HVAC elements. Prepare and update two-week look-ahead schedules to closely monitor ongoing progress. Collaborate with site teams and subcontractors to ensure schedules accurately reflect the actual work being performed. Track job costs, update budgets, and revise schedules to accommodate any changes in project scope or timelines. Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to verify that execution aligns with planned schedules. Identify potential schedule risks and develop contingency or recovery plans as needed. Liaise with clients, engineers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve any scheduling conflicts promptly. Monitor procurement and delivery timelines for materials and equipment to avoid delays. Assist in preparing schedule-related documentation for change orders and project reporting. Support site execution teams by providing updated timelines, sequencing of operations, and milestone tracking. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal stakeholders and client meetings. Contribute to cost-to-complete and progress reporting processes. Ensure that all project schedules comply with contract milestones, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of seven years’ experience in construction planning, preferably with exposure to MEP, HVAC, or civil projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling and management is essential. Strong skills in MS Office and other project tracking software. Excellent communication and coordination abilities to work effectively with diverse teams. Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary starting at PKR 200,000, with adjustments based on experience and expertise. Health insurance is provided, covering outpatient care in Islamabad, with benefits ranging between PKR 50,000 and 75,000 depending on experience. A joining bonus equivalent to 30–40% of the base salary is offered. Vehicle allowance is available following successful completion of the probationary period, which is reviewed every six months. Additional perks include an Eid bonus and paid time off. The role supports a hybrid work environment, requiring onsite presence at NUST NSTP from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with Fridays offering remote work flexibility.
