Senior Electrical Engineer

    Location: Reko Diq SITE – Balochistan

    Salary: 100,000 – 120,000

    Requirements

    • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially HV, MV, and LV systems in mining.
    • Experience with utility corridors, substation design, and technical documentation.
    • Proven ability to ensure technical quality, coordination, integrity, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Familiarity with project standards, procedures, and multi-discipline collaboration.
    • Skilled in QA, safety, HSE, and OH&S compliance.
    • Proficient in procurement, construction support, and commissioning.
    • Experience with protection coordination, arc flash assessments, and electrical design calculations.
    • Ability to review design drawings and prepare material take-offs, datasheets, and specifications.
    • Knowledge of power system modelling, protection settings, and electrical asset management.
    • Experience of liaising with power authorities and regulators (NTDC, NEPRA, CPPA).
    • Familiarity with tier 1 brands such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider.
    • Proven experience with HFO and Diesel Thermal Power Plants (25–300 MW).
    • Track record of PV Solar, BESS, Wind farm, Micro Grids, and Energy Management Systems projects.
    • Familiar with IEC and Pakistan electrical codes and standards.
    • Experience with various electrical engineering software.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to travel to all areas within Pakistan.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver infrastructure projects involving HV, MV, and LV systems within the mining environment.
    • Design utility corridors and substations; prepare technical reports, calculations, design briefs, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
    • Ensure technical quality, coordination, integrity, and cost-effectiveness of projects.
    • Follow standards and procedures to execute work effectively.
    • Interface with project team and management on multidisciplinary projects.
    • Manage budgets and schedules, prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and report progress to the Project Manager.
    • Comply with QA, safety, and environmental objectives.
    • Maintain quality assurance within RDMC guidelines.
    • Implement safe working practices and adhere to OH&S procedures.
    • Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow checking procedures.
    • Assist during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
    • Conduct protection coordination and arc flash hazard assessments, and develop mitigation solutions.
    • Perform electrical design calculations and review design drawings (SLDs, schematics, terminations, GAs).
    • Prepare MTOs, datasheets, specifications, methodologies, procurement, and construction scopes.
    • Manage power reticulation and safety compliance of camp and office areas.
    • Maintain electrical asset registers and routine checklists.
    • Perform power systems modelling, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
    • Conduct protection, earthing, arc-flash, and lightning system studies.
    • Inspect, test, and commission HV and LV electrical equipment.
