    Salary: 40,000 – 60,000

    Qualification

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
    • Admission to practice law in Pakistan (valid Pakistan Bar Council license required).

    Experience

    • 5–9 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial, litigation or law corporate practice.
    • Prior experience in the mining, energy, infrastructure, or large industrial sectors will be an advantage.

    Requirements

    • Strong understanding of Pakistani laws, regulations, and court procedures.
    • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
    • Proven experience of handling contract negotiations, regulatory matters, and legal correspondence.
    • Strong command of written and spoken English and Urdu.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and within a team.
    • Ability to show initiative and be a “self-starter”, identifying new priorities and proposing solutions.
    • Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution processes will be an advantage.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide legal advice and support company departments on operational, regulatory, and contractual matters.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
    • Liaise with external counsel and manage litigation and dispute resolution cases in court, as well as international arbitrations, with limited oversight.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant Pakistani and international laws, licenses, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support company secretarial functions and assist in maintaining statutory records and filings.
    • Represent the company in communications with government bodies, regulators, and legal authorities.
    • Prepare legal opinions, reports, and summaries for management as required.
    • Assist in internal training and awareness sessions on compliance, legal matters and legal policies; as well as helping to build a “knowledge bank” of Pakistan precedents and advice concerning mining and commercial law matters.
    • Support corporate governance initiatives and implementation of Barrick Mining’s legal and ethical standards.
